To initiate “Phase One” of the plan to reopen NC in response to COVID-19, Governor Cooper entered Executive Order #138 effective 5/8/20 at 5:00 pm.
For hunters and field trial participants, there are restrictions designed to prevent the spread of disease.
Everyone should follow the Recommendations to Promote Social Distancing & Reduce Transmission (see Section 2.A. of EO#138).
- Stay six feet apart.
- If you are sick or at high risk of severe illness, stay home.
- Wash your hands frequently, don’t shake hands, wear cloth face covering, use hand sanitizer, regularly clean high-touch surfaces such as steering wheels, wallets, phones, etc.
Field Trial events are not necessarily “mass gatherings” which are prohibited in Phase One.
Hunting and field trial activities can be enjoyed without the event turning into a “mass gathering.” It is simple. Meet outdoors. Eat outdoors. Do not congregate with more than ten people together at one time.
Field Trial permits are not being issued at this time. Until you secure a permit, remind all attendees they must secure a NC Hunting License. Click here for information on license requirements for residents and nonresidents hunting on a Controlled Hunting Preserve.
Click below for printable one-page Notice to post at field trials or other events. This is designed to inform participants of rules necessary to comply with “Phase One” rules. We hope it is useful.
